"He feels himself before he knows himself"
In the reading for Freedom in Education, I came across the afore said quote. I found the quote interesting because it spoke about how a person has natural instinct to reach out and learn. The example given said that infants reach out, stretch out their arms, kick their legs and grasp on to everything in reach in order to adapt or get a feel for their unknown environment. I agree with the quote because I can remember when my niece was an infant and the way she responded to new surroundings and different faces. It’s interesting to reflect on how she grew and developed. Each movement or gesture she made seemed new to her. As an infant, it really seemed as if everyday was a learning experience for her.
